Introducing... Lisa Lutkenhouse Lowe
I have several years of experience with Gilbert & Sullivan operettas and children's musical and dramatic theatre. Collaborative theatre, new works, and start-up theatre companies have honed my ability to work on limited budgets and wear multiple administrative hats. Seussical The Musical, with Berkeley Playhouse (Berkeley, 2007), was the start of my career with family musical theatre.
Experienced at overseeing the entire costume design process, I also build costumes as necessary. I'm happy to consult with companies interested in expertise but employing their own sewing staffs. My teaching experience includes a children's Basic Design & Sewing summer camp for kids 7 and up.
Currently, I serve as Resident Costumer for Stanford Savoyards (Stanford, Ca), Imagination Players (Berkeley, Ca) and Kehillah High School (Palo Alto, Ca).
I particularly enjoy pieces which are technically challenging to construct -- often involving a mix of textiles and other materials -- and that are based on a unique artistic vision.
