Introducing... Patricia Burke
Theatre is life. That's the way it is. My interest in theatre at the beginning was rather unconventional- or maybe not. We girls have been known to do almost anything for love... isn't that at least some part of the plot for at least dozens of shows? Anyway. Head over heels for a boy that I'd do anything to impress, I auditioned for a musical - Guys and Dolls. Not expecting great results, I was surprised to find myself called back several times for The General. I didn't get the part, but I did find myself in the ensemble, and having the time of my life. I learned a lot from that show, and have never looked back. Since then, I've auditioned for almost anything that's come up, even if it's meant juggling high school classes, college classes, church, voice lessons, and two different but equally demanding roles and so rehearsal schedules at once. I've enjoyed and learned so much from it all.
Oh. About the boy... I didn't get him. But I did find a new love - the stage.
The specifics... I'm 18, and a freshman in college. I'm majoring in psychology. I've recently be reclassified as a soprano, which was a fun little discovery thanks to my college voice teacher. I have less dance experience than I'd like (only the experience I've gotten from the musicals I've done), but I learn fast and won't quit until I've mastered whatever I'm trying to learn.
