| Accessibility: | Cotuit Center for the Arts presents 1776, music and lyrics by Sherman Edwards, book by Peter Stone. The production opens on Thursday, October 16 at 7:30 pm. Performances continue through November 9 at 7:30 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings with Sunday matinees at 2:00 pm. Tickets are available by phoning the box office 508-428-0669 or purchasing online at www.CotuitCenterForTheArts.org. Directed by Tara O\\\'Keefe with musical direction by Steve Lindberg and choreography by Michele Colley, 1776 is the crackling musical recreation of the two fiery months in Philadelphia during which the Second Continental Congress debated, argued, created and finally approved our Declaration of Independence. A timely, witty and thoughtful look at the challenges of forging so many different voices into one nation. |
