Lost in Yonkers is a coming of age story set in Yonkers, New York. It is the part of the “Eugene Trilogy,” but is considered more dramatic and less sentimental. The story is about two brothers, Arty and Jay, who are cared for by their mother and grandmother. Their father is a traveling salesman who is paying off debts to a loan shark. Their mother is dead. The story also includes Arty and Jay’s aunt and uncle, who are both dysfunctional in different ways. The play’s climax is a confrontation between Grandma Kurnitz and Aunt Bella. |
