| Synopsis: |
Figaro and Susanna are about to become married. Nevertheless, problems arise. First, Marcellina demands that Figaro marry her instead, since he cannot pay his debts to her. Also, the Count Almalviva lusts after Susanna. Meanwhile, the Count has promised to kick the Countess's page, Cherubino, out of the palace for sleeping with Barbarina, the daughter of the gardener, Antonio. In the end, it turns out Marcellina cannot lay claim to Figaro -- because she's his mother. The Countess, disguised as Susanna, catches the Count attempting to flirt with her, and thus the Count is forced to apologize. Finally, the Count allows Cherubino to stay and marry Barbarina since in return for kisses, he had promised Barbarina 'anything.' |
