Synopsis

After the Greek general Agamemnon returns from war, he is murdered by his wife Clytemnestra and her lover Aegistheus. Clytemnestra’s daughter, Elektra, desperately seeks revenge. However, Elektra’s timid sister, Chrysothemis, refuses to take part. When Elektra’s long lost brother (Orestes) returns, Elektra informs him about how their father was murdered. In a rage, he kills Clytemnestra and Aegistheus. Elektra then dances an ecstatic dance of triumph and falls dead.
