Mr. Brown and his daughter Nonnie travel to a boarding house by the sea in Great Britain. There, they meet all the various theatricals who take up residence in the boarding house. David, the secretary and son of Laurette, a has-been actress, starts flirting with Nonnie and later proposes to her. However, Nonnie decides that they are too different and refuses. Mr. Brown, while drunk, sends a telegram to his employers, resigning from his job, but the telegram never arrives, so everything turn out all right.
