Synopsis

Set in contemporary Dublin, Shining City explores the lives of one bewildered widower and his therapist. John is still reeling from his loss when he is visited by the ghost of his wife. Terrified and guilt ridden, John starts sessions with Ian, a therapist who is struggling with his own demons. As the play stretches over the course of a year through therapy sessions, the audience learns more about the two men—and what ghosts they are really haunted by. A naturalistic, subtle, and moving play that revolves around two men searching for answers in their existence.
