Description

In 1844, Harvard's Hasty Pudding Society began producing elaborate annual shows written by and starring its members -- and while a lot has changed at the university since then, the tradition is still going strong. This year marks the society's 170th production: "Intermission Impossible", a raucous World War II-era theater comedy that sees alcoholic playwright Tennessee Whiskey trying to prepare for his Broadway debut while contending with an absurd group of characters with even more absurd names, like aging actress Faye Dinaway, pageant queen Amber Wavesofgrain and hunky sailor Sal Pacific. Men play all the roles in this bawdy, old-school burlesque at Hunter College's Kaye Playhouse -- but women are involved in all other aspects of the production, from writing to scoring to producing the show.
