Description

"The Importance of Being Earnest" follows the plays protagonist, Jack Worthing, who is a pillar of the community and guardian to the eighteen-year-old granddaughter, whom he inherited from his adopted father. Jack is a landowner and justice of the peace. For years, he has also pretended to have an irresponsible black-sheep brother named Earnest who leads a scandalous life in pursuit of pleasure and is always getting into trouble of a sort that requires Jack to rush grimly off to his rescue.
