The Anacostia Playhouse is located in southeast Washington, DC in what is now called historic downtown Anacostia. Opening in late summer of 2013, the theater at 2020 Shannon Place, SE, is located in a place of both rich history and great promise. As a full-time performing arts facility, it is uniquely positioned to serve all Washington, DC area communities while introducing them to a neighborhood rich in history and culture thereby helping spur local economic development.
