Description

"Psychotropic" is about two theater-makers who want to make a play about climate change. As their mission to put on the perfect, most-action-inspiring play about climate change becomes impossible, their reality begins to slip away. Somewhere between Groundhog Day and an acting class from hell, Psychotropic is an irreverent look at how the theater world grapples with the biggest doom of our lives. Philip Kenner (Playwright): Philip Kenner is a Chicago-based writer, educator, and performer originally from New Rochelle, NY. His new play "Psychotropic" premiers at RoleCall Theater in Atlanta in July 2022. He is a former Program Administrator for The Sundance Institute's Theatre Lab, and recently, his play, “The Sun Club,” received a production at Dixon Place and a reading at the Jermyn Street Theater in London. Philip has developed work with The Performance Interface Lab, Playwrights Horizons, Musical Theater Factory, and The Tank, and three of his short plays were published by The CRY HAVOC Company. He has an MFA from Northwestern University in playwriting and screenwriting. Directed by Maddy Roberts. Performed by Alexa Lauren and Roz Sullivan-Lovett. Lighting Design by Shawn Collins.
