Do you have a passion for acting or the treasured works of the stage? Do you love the behind-the-scenes magic of lighting, sound, acoustics, costume, and set design? No matter which side of the curtain you prefer, a minor in theatre could be the perfect fit for you. As a student of theatre at PLNU, you will be given the tools necessary to gain thorough and passionate expertise in one of the most timeless forms of art and entertainment.
PLNU offers a theatre minor. Your coursework will encompass all the fundamental aspects of the discipline, including acting, playwriting, movement, and directing. You will learn general communication styles, and take courses in musical theatre, improvisation and devising. You will also be encouraged to enhance your learning with courses in literature, specifically those dealing with great dramas.
At Point Loma Nazarene University, Salomon Theatre has put on more than 150 stage productions and musicals over the last 40 seasons, including Hamlet, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Into the Woods. These exciting and award-winning shows are not just for PLNU, but also for the local community.
