Marion Adler is an award winning lyricist, poet and actress. Her work has been heard across the United States, Canada and Europe. Her musicals ENTER THE GUARDSMAN and GUNMETAL BLUES (with Craig Bohmler and Scott Wentworth) have both enjoyed much international success. After winning the grand prize at the International Musical of the Year, Guardsman premiered in London's Donmar Warehouse where it received an Olivier Award nomination for “Best New Musical”. After being subsequently produced in Switzerland, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Chicago, Indianapolis, the New Jersey Shakespeare Festival, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and San Diego's Old Globe, it was recognized as the most produced new musical of the 2002-2002 season by American Theater Magazine. GUNMETAL BLUES, which premiered Off-Broadway in 1992, has had over 100 productions in the US and Canada. Also represented Off-Broadway were Ms. Adler’s lyrics in “Life Lines” from the review A - MY NAME IS STILL ALICE and “Dear Max" in Pets both with Carolyn Sloan. She recently completed work on How to Make a Musical (with Craig Bohmler and Marc Jacobs) for American Musical Theater of San Jose, and is currently at work on two musicals for the Broadway stage with Oscar Award-winning composer, Alan Menkin.
