Henry IV Part I is based around the King of England and events that lead up to a gigantic battle at the end of this play. Henry IV has a very strained relationship with his son Prince Harry. Harry seeks to be honorable and respected by his dad. However, he has a tendency to hang out at bars and associate with criminals. Meanwhile, The Percys plan to fight with the King. They are noblemen who are upset at the King because he owes them money. Henry IV Part I alternates between serious drama and comedy. The humorous parts of the play center on Falstaff and other rogues at the bar.
