Gabriel Torres is a multidisciplinary Artist born in Bucaramanga - Colombia, raised between the States and Colombia, currently living in NYC, his career started with the violin when he was three years old and made part of the music groups of Batuta, Bucaramanga Colombia (2001), then he played music with the Cantares Foundation till 2011 because his family decided moved to The United States. He acted under Dignidad Project, Repertorio Español NJ - 2012 & 2013 then He appeared as a dancer for The International Dance Day in Bogota, Colombia - 2013. On 2015, he came back to New York to study at The Neighborhood Playhouse Theater for a year, and his studies prolonged as he is currently a part-time student at The New School of Drama for a BFA-MA dual degree. Some of his credits as creative director include the plays he wrote, directed and self-produced: In The Time of New York, Venus Thespis Theater Festival (2015), And “The Eternal Cycle of…” New York New Works - 2016. and T Times, an LGBTQ short film in post-production being co-sponsor by The Colombian Consulate in New York City and Oasis LGBT Wellness Foundation. He is currently working as a creator on a new show commissioned by the Colombian Consulate based on the Story of Sergio Urrego, he is also an ensemble member of collective creation theater company Tabula RASA NYC, for their New Production and Theater Project for Peace. As a Writer, he has been published in literary Magazines such as Eleven and a Half, and Room, and his plays have received Readings In Colombia at Casa Ensemble Theater.
