Plot

Prologue

In a dark alleyway in Derry, Father Horrigan arrives to meet with IRA member, Frank Magennis. He has traveled for two hours to get there, and is watched from the shadows by Lawrence Malone. Magennis informs Father Horrigan that the police have found a body buried in the peat, which has subsequently been identified as Seamus Carney--a former IRA informer. Father Horrigan knows the Carney family well, and Magennis threatens the priest to get him to agree to help the IRA. Magennis’ boss, Muldoon, now appears and outlines their plan. They want to know everything about Seamus’ brother, Quinn, and Father Horrigan is going to help them…

Act One

In the early hours of the following day, Quinn Carney and his sister-in-law, Caitlin, are still up, drinking, smoking, and playing Connect Four in the kitchen of their farmhouse. They joke around with each other and are clearly very close. Caitlin jokes how easy it is to defeat Quinn, leading Quinn to challenge her to a blindfolded game
