Synopsis

Janie Blumberg and Harriet Cornwall, best friends from college, are navigating their post-college “adult” lives in New York City. They are in that late twenties, dangerously close to thirties phase where they feel like they’re completely behind and totally lost. Janie, an aspiring writer, meets a dashing doctor named Marty who seems like the perfect match...except he calls her “monkey” and really wants her to move in with him now. Harriet nabs a great job at Colgate-Palmolive, and starts a steamy relationship with her boss...it’s slightly annoying that he’s married. Janie’s parents Tasha and Simon don’t make things easier by dropping by her new apartment unannounced and bringing a Russian cab driver to be her possible suitor. Harriet’s mother, on the other hand, is a successful executive who pushes independence at all costs. Janie and Harriet try to help each other (and themselves) find their way and curate their dream life. It’s up to interpretation whether they succeed or fall flat.
