I'm Not Rappaport

Play

Overview

Synopsis

The play focuses on Nat Moyer, a chatty Jewish retiree with a tendency to exaggerate, and Midge Carter, a feisty African-American woman. The two friends spend their days sitting on a bench, trying to mask the horrible realities of aging, mainly through the tall tales that Nat spins. As employers and family members try to ease them into obscurity, and street thugs prey upon them, each refuses to relinquish his precarious grip independence.
