Daniel Bates, a native of Elmira NY, has recently finished two years as a Young Artist with Florida Grand Opera. During this time he performed the roles of Ernesto in Don Pasquale, Nadir in The Pearl Fishers, Ferrando in Cosi fan Tutte, Goro in Madama Butterfly, and 3rd S.S Man in The Passenger. Daniel has recently performed Junior/Charlie in the World Premiere of Cold Mountain with the Santa Fe Opera. Daniel has also won many awards most recently receiving a Career Development Grant from the prestigious William Matheus Sullivan Foundation, an Encouragement Award from the Metropolitan Opera National Council, and 1st Prize in the NSAL Chapter Voice Competition.
