Ted Swindley is an American playwright, director and producer. He is best known for creating Always... Patsy Cline, a musical based on the friendship between a Texas housewife and the famed country singer; the musical has become one of the top produced works in the United States as well as being performed abroad.
Other works by Swindley include The Honky Tonk Angels and its' sequel, Honky Tonk Angels Holiday Spectacular, Bachelor Pad, Stories My Grandmother Told Me, Bubba's Revenge: A Southern Belle Primer, Step Into My Parlor, Bye, Bye Love: The Everly Brothers Musical, Summer of '66 and Swing Step, nominated for a Dora Award for Best Musical.
Swindley is the founding artistic director of Stages Repertory Theatre in Houston Texas. He has also directed for the Texas Shakespeare Festival, Duke University, San Diego Repertory, Flat Rock Playhouse, Denver Theatre Center, Red Barn Theatre, Virginia Stage, Mill Mountain Theatre, Actor's Studio, Barter Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse, and more.
