Scott Brown is a writer, journalist, composer and critic. Scott Brown began his writing career as a journalist working in the magazine industry. He started with working for Entertainment Weekly and branched out to different magazines such as GQ, Time, and New York Magazine. It was at New York Magazine were he won the George Jean Nathan Award for Cinematic Criticism. He was not only a critic of the screen, but one of the stage as well, working as the chief theatre critic for New York Magazine for 4 years until he left in 2014. His writing can also be seen on the small screen on HBO, WGN, Amazon, and Hulu.
His writing also took a turn on the stage when he and his childhood friend Anthony King teamed up to co-write the books for two musicals. The first being the lesser known Guttenberg! the Musical! which found its home Off-Broadway. Following this obscure work, the team turned out the Tony Award nominated book for Beetlejuice in 2019.
