Ken Ludwig is an American playwright and librettist who has written 28 plays and musicals to date. Probably his most famous play, which was also his first to debut on Broadway, is Lend Me a Tenor, which first opened in 1986 on the West End, then opened on Broadway in 1989. The prolific Ludwig wrote the book for the hugely successful Gershwin musical, Crazy for You, as well as the plays Moon Over Buffalo and Murder on the Orient Express - the latter written at the request of the Agatha Christie Estate.
Recognized as one of the top writers of stage comedies, Ludwig has also worked as a film and television writer, and has published an award-winning book, How To Teach Your Children Shakespeare.
