Jodi Picoult is an American novelist best known for her family saga novels that deal with timely and often controverisal topics. In addition to her novels, Picoult wrote for DC Comics Wonder Woman. Picoult has won several awards for her work, and regularly advocates for education and women's voices in writing.
She was born on Long Island in 1966. Picoult first studied English and creative writing at Princeton University. After earning her bachelor's degree, she pursued a master's degree in education from Harvard University. In addition to writing novels and short stories, Picoult was awarded an honoray doctorate from Dartmouth, and then from the University of New Haven.
In 2020, Picoult ventured into theatre, partnering with Timothy Allen McDonald to create Breathe, a musical about the COVID-10 pandemic.
