John Jacobson is an American author and composer. With a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a master’s degree in Liberal Studies from Georgetown University, Jacobson has become an internationally recognized figure in music education. Working as a creative and motivating speaker for teacher and students in choral music, Jacobson has developed an educational program to assist music educators, which has been published by the Hal Leonard Corporation.
An author and composer of many musicals and choral works, Jacobson has staged hundreds of music ensembles for festivals, including those in association with Walt Disney Productions, NBC’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and presidential inaugurations. Recently, Jacobson created and starred in Jump! A Fitness Program for Children, which is a series that promotes physical fitness for children while incorporating musical education. Jacobson works in partnership with Mark Brymer, a fellow author and composer, on developing jukebox musicals for young performers, including A Wop Bop A-Loo Bop and Do You Wanna Dance?
