Molly Newman

She first gained recognition in the world of theatre for her play Quilters, co-written with Barbara Damashek, which became a landmark piece in feminist and American regional theatre.

Quilters premiered in the early 1980s and was later produced on Broadway in 1984. The play, a series of vignettes centered around the lives of pioneer women in the American West, was structured around the creation of a quilt, with each square representing a different story or struggle.
