Danilo “DJ” Walde is a British composer, musician, DJ and performer. He graduated with a degree in music from Brunel University. Walde works closely with Kate Prince’s company ZooNation to combine hip-hop culture and music with the world of theater and narrative dance. Some of his most notable works include Sylvia (2023), Some Like it Hip-Hop (2019), and The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party (2020). Walde has also composed for the English national Ballet, The Royal Shakespeare Company, and collaborated with the London Contemporary Orchestra. Walde served as the official DJ for the 2012 London Paralympic Opening Ceremonies.
In addition to his composing works, Walde also is a leader of the Roundhouse Experimental Choir and is the bass player for the band Royal Treatment Plant. He teaches and performs with Some Voices, a London-based choir, and works as an artistic tutor for various charities and institutions.
