Jake Brunger is a London-based lyricist, screenwriter, and playwright originally from Nottingham, most famously recognized through his partnership with composer Pippa Cleary, whom he met at Bristol University. He is best known for his stage adaptations of The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13 ¾ as well as The Great British Bake Off, which opened on London’s West End in 2023.
His debut feature film Love Sarah premiered at the 2020 Glasgow Film Festival and was released on Netflix in July 2022, reaching number five in Netflix’s Top 10 Films. He has also penned the play Four Play, first seen at the Old Vic Theatre in London and has worked extensively as a musical theatre librettist and lyricist on projects such as Red Riding Hood, Treasure Island, and Chicken Little for the Singapore Repertory Theatre as well as Prodigy for the National Youth Music Theatre and Jet Set Go!
