Craig Wright is an American playwright and TV writer. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and attended Minnesota State University Moorhead. After college, Wright went to seminary school, where he wrote two plays inspired by his experiences there: The Pavilion and Orange Flower Water, which was first performed in 2002 and earned positive reviews. After working as an associate pastor in St. Paul, Minnesota, he was invited to meet with producers of the TV series Six Feet Under, who hired him as a writer. He eventually became the show’s Executive Story Editor and was later hired as supervising producer and writer on the series Lost.
Wright’s plays include both comedies and dramas. In addition to Orange Flower Water, he has three other plays set in Pine City, Minnesota: Molly’s Delicious, The Pavilion, and Melissa Arctic. In 2002, his play Recent Tragic Events, an ensemble comedy about the existential aftermath of 9/11, premiered off-Broadway. Wright is also a musician and co-lead an alternative rock band named The Tropicals.
