Jimmy Buffett was an American musician and songwriter. He became known for his tropical rock sound with hit songs, such as "Margaritaville" (1977), "Volcano" (1979), "A Pirate Looks at Forty" (1974), "Cheeseburger in Paradise" (1978), "Why Don't We Get Drunk" (1973), and “Five O’Clock Somewhere” (2003). He encapsulated the “island escapism” lifestyle throughout his career, opening the Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville restaurant chain and the Cheeseburger in Paradise restaurant chain. In 2017, his music was used in the jukebox musical, Escape to Margaritaville, which had a four-month Broadway run in 2018.
