George F. Walker is a Canadian playwright originally from Toronto, Ontario. Known as one the country’s most prolific and produced writers, he has penned over 30 plays and has created screenplays for several award-winning Canadian television shows. Having grown up in the city, his writing often focuses on the urban lifestyle and the people who inhabit it; his characters are often flawed, relatable, and imperfect. His plays have been presented over 700 times all over the world and have been translated into over 10 languages. In 2006, he was made a Member of the Order of Canada and in 2009, received the Governor General's Performing Arts Award for Lifetime Artistic Achievement.
