Dan Gordon is an Israeli-American screenwriter, producer, playwright, novelist, and director. Ha has served in the Israeli Army and is now a captain in the Israel Defence Forces Reserves. Born in California, he attended high school in Israel before returning to America to major in film and television at UCLA. Some of his best known screenplays include Passenger 57 (1992), Murder in the First (1995), The Assignment (1997) and The Hurricane (1999). In 2008, his play Irena's Vow premiered at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, New York before transferring to Broadway the following year. His stage adaptation of Barry Morrow's Rain Man then premiered at the Apollo Theatre in London's West End in 2009.
