David Cumming is a British comedian, writer, director, and actor, best known for creating Operation Mincemeat with his fellow colleagues Felix Hagan, Natasha Hodgson, and Zoë Roberts. Together, they form the comedy troupe SpitLip, specializing in “big dumb musicals”, fusing together drama, music and comedy to create award-winning shows that break the mold. In 2024, he won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical for Operation Mincemeat, as well as the 2023 WhatsOnStage Award (Best New Musical) and the 2023 West End Wilma Award (Best West End Show). He is also part of the comedy collective Kill the Beast.
