Ian Shaw
Ian Shaw is a British actor and writer, born in 1969, who has built a career in theatre, television, and film. He is the son of the acclaimed actor Robert Shaw, best known for his role as Quint in Jaws. Growing up in a family closely tied to the arts, Shaw pursued training at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London, developing his craft across classical and contemporary theatre.
On stage, Shaw has appeared in a wide range of productions, including works by Shakespeare and modern playwrights. His career has spanned both West End and regional theatre, where he has been praised for his versatility and strong stage presence. Alongside his acting work, he has increasingly turned toward writing, blending his industry experience with a deep understanding of dramatic storytelling.
Shaw co-wrote and starred in The Shark Is Broken, a play that explores the behind-the-scenes tensions during the filming of Jaws, famously plagued by mechanical shark malfunctions and cast conflicts.
