Tim Herlihy is an American screenwriter and actor, who is best known for his collaborations with Adam Sandler and his work on Saturday Night Live. Herlihy first met Sandler when they roomed together at New York University and he co-wrote much of Sandler's early stand-up comedy material. They then went on to write material together for SNL, while Herlihy worked as an attorney during the day. After leaving the law, Herlihy and Sandler have since written hugely popular comedies for film, including Billy Madison (1995), Happy Gilmore (1996), )The Waterboy (1998), Big Daddy (1999), and Little Nicky (2000). Herlihy also co-wrote the screenplay for the 2015 film Pixels. In 2006, Herlihy adapted his 1998 film The Wedding SInger for the Broadway stage and the show was nominated for five Tony Awards, including Best Book of a Musical and Best Musical.
