Russian composer Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov is known for his luxurious orchestration, and, as one of 'The Five', for being one of the leading composers of Russian nationalistic music. Much of his work is influenced by Russian folksong and folklore, particularly his symphonic suit Scheherazade, and his operas, many of which are based on fairy tales.
