Rehana Mirza is a member of the Ma-Yi Theater Lab in New York and a huge advocate for the South Asian community. Her play Barriers was the first play to address 9-11 from a Muslim perspective and many of her other plays also give voice to those whose perspective is often stifled. She has also produced films and was nominated for a South Asian Media Award. She is the recipient of a 2016 Lily Award and a member of the Dorothy Strelsin Primary Stages Writer's Group. Rehana has an MFA in Playwrighting from Columbia University and a BFA in Dramatic Writing from NYU, Tisch School of the Arts.
