avan Hallman’s touring plays, which he also directs, have been performed over 20,000 times for nearly 5 million students across the United States. Other works have been performed in NYC, New Orleans, Chicago, Ireland, and on screen. The world premiere of his musical Pictures of Marilyn, at the National WWII Museum, was named one of the ten best musicals of 2016 by The New Orleans Times-Picayune. He has completed additional commissions for the National WWII Museum, the National Czech & Slovak Museum, Playtime Poppy, LID Productions, and others. Cavan is the Founder and Artistic Director of Mirrorbox Theatre, where he has directed the Iowa premieres of Exit Strategy, Red Speedo, and Luna Gale. He received his MFA in Playwriting from The University of New Orleans, where he has taught scriptwriting and acting. Cavan is a Resident Artist with The CRY HAVOC Company (www.cryhavoccompany.org).
