Biography
Jean Cocteau
Jean Maurice Eugene Clement Cocteau was a French writer, designer, playwriter, artist, poet, and film maker, of the avant-garde tradition. His most famous novels include Les Enfants Terribles in 1929, and Beauty and the Beast in 1946. His play La voix humaine was the basis for Poulenc's 1959 opera of the same name.
