Introduction
Once you’ve completed your audition process, it will feel as if you have nothing to do but wait and worry. That’s not true. In this module, we’ll outline how to keep busy in a way that will help you make a smart decision about what program to pick when the time comes.
Terminology
- Adjudicator: The person(s) evaluating your audition. In the context of college auditions, these people are typically faculty.
- Casting Director: A person or group of people who help a creative team cast professional productions.
- Financial Aid: Money to help pay for college, including loans, grants, and scholarships.
- Grants: A need-based form of financial aid that doesn’t have to be paid back.
- Loans: Money borrowed from the federal government or private lender to help pay for college and associated costs.
- Scholarships: Financial support awarded a student based on academic achievement or other measure of excellence.

Now that you’ve completed your auditions, you simply have to wait. While some schools will be good at getting back to you within a couple weeks because they accept students on a rolling basis, other programs may make you wait longer to find out whether or not you’ve been accepted.
