I arrive at this house and drink oysters and a liqueur. It goes to my head. I’m almost a flirt. Somebody mentions… ‘Your husband is a long time.’

man, a stupid nervous joke, inappropriate yet needed, badly timed yet delivered
with the telling of a raconteur, funny, making her laugh. And I know… I know you killed my husband.
