You’re speaking to Lady George Grayston. Tony! Of course I knew your voice. Well, what is it? I’m not at all stern. I’m making my voice as pleasant as I can. I’m sorry you find it disagreeable. No, I’m afraid I couldn’t come to tea tomorrow. I shall be engaged all the afternoon. What is the day after tomorrow? Well, I must ask Bessie. I don’t know if she’s free. Of course I’m not coming alone. It would be most compromising. A nice-looking young man like you. What would Minnie say? Oh, I know all about that…I didn’t promise anything. I merely said the future was everybody’s property. A sleepless night. Fancy! Well, good-bye….Tony, do you know the most enchanting word in the English language? Perhaps.
