Context

Text

His name is Lieutenant Thomas Johnson. He risked everything to free us, driving trucks full of ammunition and fuel in 36 hour shifts to supply General Patton's troops advancing toward Germany. Sandbags were on the floor to save them from exploding landmines. On long runs the drivers switched seats while their trucks were still moving. After Southern Holland was liberated, he volunteered to join a dangerous smuggling operation.
