Sound No.1

Following a successful UK Tour and ahead of a West End run, ROYO are looking for production staff to join Kinky Boots as the show embarks on tour of Europe.

Job Requirements:

Experience operating digital sound systems and live mixing large-scale theatrical products, including live music and line-by-line speech

Experience in managing a professional theatre sound department on touring productions, motivating and directing as necessary

Self-Motivated problem-solving attitude and calm work under pressure

Excellent communication skills and cross-departmental collaboration in a fast-paced environment

Experience in stage sound, including the rigging and focusing of speakers, radio microphone systems, and other equipment

Excellent punctuality and time management

Familiarity with and adherence to current Health & Safety guidelines relevant to the production is essential, which may include working at height, using appropriate safety equipment and clothing and attending training as deemed necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

Act as Sound No.1 throughout the run of the production, mixing the show to a first-class standard

Oversee the Sound team, working closely with the Sound Designer, associates and freelance production staff during pre-production and production

Alongside the Production Sound Engineer, lead the sound department during get-ins and get-outs

Work closely with other technical departments, stage management, the acting company, resident creative team and theatre staff

Maintenance of the production as instructed and dictated by the original creative team, Production Management and resident creative team is crucial.

Attendance at all rehearsals, technical rehearsals and performances is required

Ensure regular maintenance and all department equipment is kept in a tidy and secure manner

Provide accurate Documentation and Sound Bibles as well as any related paperwork after the production's expiry.
