Squabbles

Auditions are Saturday, July 19th at 10:00am in the GCT Rehearsal Room.

Squabbles is a comedic two-act play by Marshall Karp featuring a cast of four men and three women. The story centers on Jerry Sloan, a successful advertising jingle writer, and his equally successful lawyer wife, Alice, who live with her cantankerous father, Abe Dreyfus. Abe’s grumpy demeanor already strains the household, particularly with Jerry, but tensions escalate when Jerry’s mother, Mildred, loses her home in a fire and moves in. Abe and Mildred clash immediately, sparking a series of hilarious confrontations fueled by their mutual disdain. The fireworks between these two strong-willed people take on a life of it’s own, driven by witty banter and chaotic family dynamics, complicated further by Alice and Jerry expecting their first child. Throw in for extra flavor the presence of quirky supporting characters like a handyman/gardener and a trusted, loyal neighbor, and you end up with a rollicking 1980’s sitcom-like comedy that promises pure, hilarious entertainment.

Rehearsals start Monday, July 28th and continue every Monday-Thursday until opening night.

Performances will be every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from October 10th to November 2nd.
