About the Position:
The Individual Giving Officer oversees all individual giving and annual campaign activities for New York Theatre Workshop - from ticket add-on donations to major gifts. The Individual Giving Officer will be responsible for identifying and building new relationships with donors and securing support. They will also take the lead on stewardship of NYTW's existing donor base, and on building and maintaining systems for benefits fulfillment.
Responsibilities:
- Works with Director of Development to set strategy and manage Individual Giving to meet/exceed goals.
- Oversees NYTW's Individual Donor and Patron program, The Society of Repeat Defenders. Primary focus on supporting and growing the organization's relationship with individual donors through donor cultivation, gift solicitation, stewardship, and retention.
- Manages a robust donor renewal, calendar, strategy and program (RD renewals and annual fund) focused on retention and upgrades to aide increasing donor revenue
- Builds and manages systems for donor benefits fulfillment, including ticket booking, event invitations and RSVPs, and donor recognition.
- Brainstorm and attend special events for donors and prospects, including RD night, special donor field trips, dinners and other events as appropriate.
- Manages major gift cultivation including developing appropriate strategies and coordinating effective recognition, stewardship opportunities and chances for engagement with the institution.
- Ensures leadership is supported in their donor relations work through strategy and briefing materials for donor meetings as well as solicitations with potential donors.
- Sets strategy, create and manage the Annual Appeal campaign at the end of the calendar year and any other broad campaigns, ensuring messaging is in alignment with NYTW's artistic vision and campaign goals.
- Serves as an ambassador and external relationship builder representing the mission to prospective donors and supporters.
- Coordinates delivery/timing of campaign acquisition solicitation letters through multi-media channels including direct mail and emails.
- Oversees NYTW's Planned Giving program, The Legacy Society.
- Generates detailed reports and analytics on Individual Giving.
- Works within NYTW's CRM, Spektrix, to track donor interactions and to pull and maintain clean data.
- Collaborates with the Finance team to complete regular financial reconciliations.
- Collaborates on telesales strategy with NYTW's Tele-Commerce lead.
- Alongside the Director of Special Events, manages the Development Associate. Helps to clearly lay out job expectations and prioritization to best serve the department.
- Manages tasks as assigned for making the Annual Gala a success.

- You have led or collaborated on the design and execution of annual fundraising campaigns.
- You have strong planning, organizational and communication skills as well as knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- You have experience managing your own work-flow and helping other team members achieve success in their work.
- You are committed to open and honest communication.
- You are excited about digging into data and fearless in mastering new data systems. You embrace technology and envision how it can be a tool to deepen connection.
- You enjoy a collaborative, team-focused working environment.

This is a full-time exempt position with a salary range of $65,000 to $70,000. Benefits include employer paid medical, dental and life insurance and paid time off. NYTW has several affinity spaces and a Core Team of staff members across the organization committed to moving specific initiatives forward in our focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.
Please note that NYTW is a hybrid work environment with Development professionals in the office a minimum of three days a week and attending all in-person events. In-office days and hours must be flexible given our robust calendar of events. This position will require onsite, in-person activity, so the applicant should intend to reside in the NYC area.
