Auditions will be held on Sunday August 10 & Monday August 11 at 7 pm. Callbacks, if necessary, would be on Tuesday August 12. Village Theatre Guild is located at 2S720 Park Blvd. in Glen Ellyn.
Material To Prepare: Auditions consist of cold reading from the script. No monologues need to be prepared.
Eleanor Vance - Female, mid 20s-mid 30s. Timid and insecure with an aura of sadness. The perfect host for a parasitic domain to feast upon. "A plain-looking, conservatively dressed girl."
Theodora (Just Theodora) - Female, mid 20s - late 30s. Outgoing, confident, and independent. Everything Eleanor wishes she could be. "Dark and rather exotic looking. A creature of mood and pure impulse."
Dr. Montague - Male, late 40s - mid 60s. A patient, fatherly figure for the rest of the group. A professional who knows how to command a room and also knows when to allow others to speak their mind. "A distinctly professional air."
Luke Sanderson - Male, mid 20s - late 40s. A would-be hero who is kind but lacks the life experience to rise to the occasion when truly necessary. "Has good looks and the disturbing charm of a man with a well-educated but usually empty mind."
Mrs. Montague - Female, late 40s - mid 60s. She lacks respect for all those around her and believes she is the main character of the story. To her, only her experience and knowledge matter. "A formidable woman, quite dominant and overpowering."
Arthur Parker - late 40's - mid 60's. Mrs. Montague's lackey. Unbreakably loyal to her. "A meek but intense-looking little man."
Mrs. Dudley - Female, late 50's and up. The reluctant housekeeper of Hill House. As cold, distant, and disturbing as the house itself. "A stern, uncommunicative woman"
