Theatre Technician

We currently have an exciting opportunity for two Theatre Technicians to join the Technical team at Sheffield Theatres. This role will work collaboratively across the Lighting, Sound & Stage teams as part of an integrated production department during the production, rehearsal & performance process.

• Working in the Lighting, Sound & Stage departments delivering safe and efficient deployment of Lighting, Sound, video & stage equipment for all of Sheffield Theatres' venues.
• Maintaining technical equipment and preparing practical and special effects to a safe standard.
• Preparing and operating technical equipment for use in performance.
• Participating in all aspects of the production process including fit ups, production weeks, show operation and get outs for rehearsals and productions and attending production meetings as required.
• Ensuring your working methods and practices always comply with instructions, procedures and risk assessments in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and Sheffield Theatres Health & safety policy.
• Assisting and working collaboratively with creative teams, visiting companies and other departments to deliver a positive and efficient production process.
• Undertaking good housekeeping and maintenance, including safe storage and maintenance of tools, equipment and materials. Report and where necessary remedy and defects & faults.
• Undertaking personal development and training in order to achieve and maintain the highest standards of safety, efficiency and operation.
