Context
Andrew Undershaft has come to the Salvation Army to see the services it offers, as agreed with his estranged daughter, Barbara. Left alone with her fiance, Adolphus Cusins, he discusses Barbara's commitment to the movement. He is keen to ensure that Barbara gets over her moral hatred of his career selling arms and munitions abroad. As such, he decides her must exert his power and influence, and buy the Salvation Army--much to Cusins' horror.
