Context
Anne and Diana have been bosom friends ever since they first met. These kindred spirits are inseparable! However, when Anne and Diana are having a tea party, Anne mistakenly pours glasses of currant wine instead of raspberry cordial! Diana’s very strict mother, Mrs. Barry, was horrified that her daughter returned home for the tea party drunk and forbade Diana from ever seeing Anne again. In this scene, Anne has gone over to Mrs. Barry's house to explain the mistake and ask for forgiveness. Mrs.
